UAE Weather Alert: Hail Hits Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah as More Rain Is Forecast

· · 1 min read

hails hits fujairah

Parts of the UAE experienced hail and rainfall on Tuesday as unsettled weather affected the country's northern and eastern regions, with further showers and strong winds forecast over the coming days.

Hail was reported in Midq in Fujairah and Al Manai and Shawka in Ras Al Khaimah. Rainwater also flowed through wadis near Sheikh Khalifa Road leading towards Fujairah, according to Gulf News.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has forecast further opportunities for rainfall, particularly across northern and eastern areas.

More rain and strong winds expected

The unsettled conditions are expected to continue on Wednesday, October 28, with convective clouds potentially bringing rain to parts of the country.

Winds could reach speeds of 50km/h around cloud formations, potentially raising dust and reducing visibility in some areas.

Further showers are possible in eastern and southern areas on Thursday, followed by additional chances of rain in eastern and northern parts of the UAE towards the weekend.

What residents should know

Residents travelling through areas affected by rain should allow extra time for their journeys and remain alert to changing road conditions.

Motorists should avoid driving through flooded roads or flowing wadis and follow instructions issued by local authorities. People planning outdoor activities in affected areas should check the latest weather updates before leaving home.

Although rainfall is expected in some parts of the country, conditions may vary considerably between emirates. Residents in Dubai should check the latest local forecast rather than assume the same conditions will affect the city.

Where to check official weather updates

The NCM provides official UAE weather forecasts and warnings through its website. Residents should use these updates for the latest information on rainfall, wind speeds, visibility and changing conditions.

Inside Dubai will continue to follow weather developments affecting residents, commuters and travellers across the UAE.
